そく【即】

〔直ちに〕 immediately; at once; instantly; on the spot; 〔すなわち〕 namely; that is (to say).

●規則ができたからといって即問題解決というわけにはいかない. The establishment of a rule cannot immediately mean the solution of the problem.

・今度反則をしたら即退場だ. If you foul again, you'll be out of the game.

・恋愛即結婚というわけにはいかないのが世の習いです. It is the way of the world that love cannot lead straight to marriage.

・幸福即金と考えるべきではない. You should not regard happiness as nothing other than money.
